Chrystal Harris is a nurse practitioner with over a decade of nursing experience. She believes in the integration of faith and contemporary medicine to restore harmony to the mind, body, and spirit. Chrystal is committed to cultivating a healthy therapeutic relationship with an emphasis on achieving the patient’s goals. To do this, she is committed to listening and adapting treatment modalities as needed. She brings a unique warmth and relatability to an otherwise cold profession.
Nursing is a second career for Chrystal, as she originally worked in the corporate setting many years ago. She obtained a Bachelors in Management with a concentration in Marketing from Kettering University in 2001. Years later, she found her passion in nursing and obtained her Bachelors and Masters from the University of Michigan-Flint in 2012 and 2017 respectively.
Chrystal has been happily married to her college sweetheart Will since 2007, and together they have one daughter. She enjoys singing, time with family and friends, and traveling.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, we accept Cigna (Evernorth). We also accept FSA spending cards and private pay clients.
What is a psychiatric evaluation and how do I prepare for it?
A psychiatric evaluation is an in-depth mental health assessment that includes a full health history of medical and mental diagnoses, family history, social history, and medications. To best prepare for this visit, please gather your personal health history so that you can answer questions promptly. To be thorough, many of the questions will be repetitive to your intake paperwork.
If time allows, we will also discuss your top 1-3 mental health goals. Give some thought to this in advance. We’re excited to help you reach your goals!
Can I get refills on my medication?
Medication refills are at the provider’s discretion. Most patients will require a monthly visit for medication management. However, there are some exceptions depending on the patient’s condition.
How do I reschedule?
You may reschedule up to 2 business days prior to your appointment. Please see your appointment confirmation email for details on how to reschedule.
What happens if I am late or miss an appointment?
If you canceled the appointment within the required 2 business days, simply reschedule as needed. If you did not cancel, or you canceled after the deadline, the card on file will automatically be charged the full cost of your visit. This fee will not be credited to a future visit.
I’m new to telehealth. What can I expect, and how can I prepare?
We use Doxy as our telehealth platform. Below, you can find a link to a youtube video that thoroughly explains how to use Doxy. You will log into my waiting room and await your appointment. It is recommended that you log in about 5 minutes prior to your appointment time. Simply click this link: https://doxy.me/chrystal1. For your convenience, you will use the same link to log into every appointment, so save it somewhere it can be easily accessed.
What do I do if I have technical problems?
Make sure that you are in a good service area. If the connection does not improve, let me know in the chat on Doxy. The provider will make the decision to continue the visit via telephone.
